4 Band Legendaris Indonesia


1. Koes Plus

Koes Plus adalah grup musik Indonesia yang dibentuk pada tahun 1969 sebagai kelanjutan dari grup Koes Bersaudara. Grup musik yang terkenal pada dasawarsa 1970-an ini sering dianggap sebagai pelopor musik pop dan rock 'n roll di Indonesia. Sampai sekarang, grup musik ini kadang masih tampil di pentas musik membawakan lagu-lagu lama mereka, walaupun hanya tinggal dua anggotanya (Yon dan Murry) yang aktif.
Lagu-lagu mereka banyak dibawakan oleh pemusik lain dengan aransemen baru. Sebagai contoh, Lex's Trio membuat album yang khusus menyanyikan ulang lagu-lagu Koes Plus, Cintamu T'lah Berlalu yang dinyanyikan ulang oleh Chrisye, serta Manis dan Sayang yang dibawakan oleh Kahitna.

Perjalanan karier

Kelompok ini dibentuk pada tahun 1969, sebagai kelanjutan dari kelompok “Koes Bersaudara”. Koes Bersaudara menjadi pelopor musik pop dan rock 'n roll, bahkan pernah dipenjara karena musiknya yang dianggap mewakili aliran politik kapitalis. Di saat itu sedang garang-garangnya gerakan anti kapitalis di Indonesia.

2. The LLOYD


D’Lloyd ini terdiri dari Bartje van Houten (gitar), Sjamsuddin (vokal), Chairul (drum), Totok (bas), Budi (kibor), dan Yuyun (saksofon/flute). Berdiri pada 1969, kemudian rekaman 1972, D’Lloyd (berasal dari kata Djakarta Llyod) tetap awet sampai sekarang.

Tak ada pergantian persnel, kecuali Juhanny Fatmarida Susilo alias Yuyun, yang bergabung pada 1995 menggantikan Andre Gultom yang meninggal dunia. “Kami ini sudah jadi satu keluarga besar. Sulit berpisah,” kata Bartje van Houten, pimpinan D’Lloyd kepada saya.

Pak Bartje yang orang Ambon ini mengatakan, D’Lloyd merupakan band yang personelnya berasal dari berbagai etnis di Tanah Air. Bartje orang Ambon, Sjam Aceh, Yuyun Jawa (Surabaya), kemudian Batak dan Manado.
3. PANBERS



Panjaitan Bersaudara (Panbers) adalah satu nama kelompok pemusik yang merupakan kependekan dari Pandjaitan Bersaudara. Kelompok yang didirikan pada tahun 1969 ini terdiri dari empat orang kakak beradik kandung putra-putra dari Drs. JMM Pandjaitan, S.H, (Alm) dengan BSO Sitompul. Mereka adalah Hans Pandjaitan, Benny Pandjaitan, Doan Pandjaitan dan Asido Pandjaitan.
Dengan mengibarkan bendera Panbers, mereka merintis karier mereka di ibukota, mulai dari mengisi acara-acara hiburan di pesta sekolah dan pesta anak muda yang kala itu dikenal dengan 'pesta dayak'. Dengan modal tekad yang bulat serta perjuangan yang gigih mereka mencoba mencipta lagu dan membawakannya di pests-pesta masa itu. Satu nomor yang tak henti mereka bawakan adalah Akhir Cinta, sebuah nomor yang melodius yang tiada bosan mereka hantarkan dimana saja mereka mengadakan pertunjukan. Lewat nomor tersebut pulalah nama Panbers mulai dikenal dan membuat era baru dalam dunia musik Indonesia.
Perjalanan karier Panbers diawali dengan kemunculan pertamanya lewat panggung Istora Senayan pada acara Jambore Bands 1970 yang membawa nama Panbers lebih dikenal luas. Terlebih setelah kesempatan muncul di televisi terbuka sudah buat mereka. Maka melengkinglah lagu-lagu orisinil karya mereka sendiri seperti Bye Bye, Jakarta City Sound, Akhir Cinta, Hanya Semusim Bunga dan Hanya Padamu.
Keberhasilan performance mereka di televisi rupanya menarik perhatian bapak Digta Mimi, seorang Manajer perusahaan piringan hitam Dimita Molding Industries, yang kemudian mengantar kelompok Panbers ke dunia rekaman. Mereka diberi kepercayaan untuk mangabadikan lagu-lagu mereka ke dalam bentuk piringan hitam ebonite. Seperti yang telah diketahui, muncullah hit mereka yang abadi, Akhir Cinta yang selalu terpatri di hati penggemar blantika musik Indonesia. Satu tahapan kesuksesan mereka terenggut lewat long play ke-49 produksi PT. Dimita yang bersejarah itu.
Keberhasilan Panbers di dunia rekaman merupakan awal dari kebangkitan grup band di dalam dunia musik Indonesia yang masa itu di dominir oleh penyanyi-penyanyi tunggal. Kelompok Koeswoyo Bersaudara yang sebagai perintis di tahun 60-an, kemudian kemunculan Panbers di awal tahun 1972 yang secara tepat diikuti oleh sekian puluh kelompok pemusik yang meramaikan dunia musik Indonesia hingga saat ini.
Untuk mengikuti perkembangan musik, Kelompok Panbers yang telah kehilangan Hans Pandjaitan, menambah personel ke dalam grup mereka yaitu Maxi Pandelaki yang diberi kesempatan untuk mengisi posisi bas. Sedangkan, Hans Pandjaitan diganti dengan seorang musikus yang bernama Hans Noya.
Panbers telah menciptakan lebih dari 700 lagu dalam ratusan album, baik yang beraliran pop, rock, rohani, keroncong bahkan melayu. Hingga kini kelompok Panbers masih eksis meramaikan dunia musik Indonesia, tidak hanya aktif show-show ke daerah-daerah namun mereka juga masih meliris album.
Beberapa lagu Panbers antara lain Gereja Tua, Cinta dan Permata, Kami Cinta Perdamaian, Indonesia My Lovely Country, Akhir Cinta, Jakarta City Sound, Haai, dan Terlambat Sudah.
Di bulan Oktober 2010,Panbers kembali ditinggalkan salah satu personelnya untuk selama-lamanya.Doan Panjaitan meninggal dunia dikarenakan sakit yang dideritanya.Akan tetapi Panbers terus berusaha berkibar dengan karya-karyanya yg abadi.


4. The Mercys

Rinto Harahap (lahir di Sibolga, Sumatera Utara, 10 Maret 1949; umur 62 tahun) adalah seorang pencipta lagu dan producer yang terkenal di tahun 1970-an. Ia mendirikan grup band The Mercy's yang terdiri Charles Hutagalung, Reynold Panggabean dan Rinto Harahap sendiri. Di samping seorang komposer ia juga mempunyai perusahaan recording bernama Lolypop di era 1970-an.
Sederetan penyanyi Indonesia yang diorbitkannya termasuk Nia Daniati, Betharia Sonata, Christine Panjaitan, Iis Sugianto dan Eddy Silitonga.

Anak ketiga dari enam bersaudara ini pernah bercita-cita menjadi dokter. Ayahnya, malah menginginkan ia jadi pendeta. Namun Rinto berketetapan untuk hidup dari musik. Rinto bahkan sempat bekerja pada sebuah perusahaan besi beton, sedangkan malamnya ngamen di klub malam, sebelum dirinya terjun ke bisnis rekaman.
Rinto bersama Charles Hutagalung dan Reynold Panggabean mendirikan grup band The Mercy's. Setelah The Mercy's bubar, bersama abangnya, Erwin Harahap, Rinto membentuk usaha rekaman Lolypop. Beberapa penyanyi Indonesia yang berhasil diorbitkannya antara lain, Nia Daniati, Betharia Sonata, Christine Panjaitan, Iis Sugianto dan Eddy Silitonga.
Rinto pernah membuat album rekaman sebagai penyanyi. Kesuksesannya dalam mencipta lagu dan menyanyi mendapat Anugerah Seni dari Direktorat Jenderal Kebudayaan, Departemen P & K, sebagai pencipta lagu, sekaligus penyanyi yang berprestasi, pada bulan Maret 1982. Bahkan perusahaan rekaman Filipina, WEA Record, pernah memberikan kepercayaan padanya untuk mengekspor lagu-lagunya. Sayang, meski berhasil terkenal, beberapa lagunya sempat dibajak dan dinyanyikan dalam bahasa Mandarin dan bahasa Tagalok.
Rinto juga pernah diberi kepercayaan menjadi Ketua Umum Yayasan Karya Cipta Indonesia. Sayang saat dirinya terkena stroke, posisinya digantikan oleh musisi Munif Bahasuan.[1]
Rinto menikah dengan Lily Kuslolita, asal Solo, yang berbeda usia tiga tahun. Mereka menikah pada tanggal 9 November 1973. Dari pernikahan ini, mereka dikaruniai tiga orang anak. Yang sulung adalah Cindy Claudia Harahap.
Rinto harahap pernah menjadi bintang tamu di just alvin di Metro TV dengan bertema A tribute to rinto harahap.

Charles Hutagalung (lahir di Medan, Sumatera Utara, 14 Oktober 1948 – meninggal di Jakarta, 7 Mei 2001 pada umur 52 tahun) adalah pemusik Indonesia yang juga merupakan vokalis dari grup musik The Mercy’s

Sejarah hidup

Charles telah mengenal Musik sewaktu kecil, mengikuti Les Piano dan bermain di Band Bocah. Sesudah remaja bermain band di kota Medan (Victim’s dan Bhayangkara Nada) terakhir The Mercy’s 70 dan hijrah ke Jakarta mengadu nasib.
Charles menikah di Jakarta 16 Mei 1975 dengan Delly Sriati Harahap dan dikaruniai 4 orang anak yaitu Iim Imanuel Hutagalung (Laki-laki) (1976), Ria Maria Hutagalung (Perempuan) (1977), Chepy Chekospi Hutagalung (Laki-laki) (1980) dan Dian Kristian Hutagalung (Perempuan) (1987).
Pada tanggal 21 Januari 1998, Charles terserang serangan stroke yang pertama kalinya. Pada tanggal 27 Januari 1999, Charles terserang stroke untuk yang kedua kalinya, sampai akhirnya ia dipanggil Yang Maha Kuasa pada tanggal 7 Mei 2001 Jam 07.53 pagi, ketika ia masih dalam perawatan berjalan yang di supervisi oleh Dokter Djoko Listiono dari RS. Pertamina Pusat. Ia dimakamkan pada hari Rabu tanggal 8 Mei 2001 di TPU (Taman Pemakaman Umum) Joglo, Jakarta Barat.

Karier

Saat saat ini ia telah mendaftarkan beberapa lagu yang terdaftar di YKCI (Yayasan Karya Cipta Indonesia) sebanyak 290 buah lagu.
Charles sendiri sebenarnya bukan pendiri The Mercy’s, karena sebelum bergabung dia merupakan anggota dari band Bhayangkara Nada di Medan. Namun dengan masuknya Charles, The Mercy’s menjadi band yang kemudian terkenal di masyarakat karena latar belakang band ini tadinya hanya bermain di kelab malam dan pesta-pesta. Sehingga dalam perjalanan selanjutnya Charles Hutagalung dan The Mercy’s tidak dapat terpisahkan.

The Mercy's

The Mercy’s sendiri didirikan tahun 1965 di Medan dengan anggota awal Erwin Harahap, Rinto Harahap, Rizal Arsyad (Mantan suami Iis Sugianto), Reynold Panggabean (Mantan suami Camelia Malik) dan Iskandar dibawah pimpinan Rizal Arsyad. Tapi ketika ada undangan untuk show di Penang, Malaysia pada tahun yang sama Iskandar mengundurkan diri, karena kuliahnya di Fakultas Kedokteran tidak mengizinkannya untuk meninggalkan bangku kuliah. Posisinya lalu digantikan oleh Charles Hutagalung. Lengkapnya setelah itu pemain The Mercy’s adalah Erwin Harahap (Gitar Melody), Rinto Harahap (Gitar Bass), Rizal Arsyad (Gitar Rhythm), Reynold Panggabean (Drum) dan Charles Hutagalung (Keyboard, Organ).
Pada tahun 1972, The Mercy’s hijrah ke Jakarta dan masih tampil di beberapa kelab malam, membawakan lagu-lagu yang mereka ciptakan sendiri. Setelah di Jakarta, barulah Albert Sumlang (Saxophone) bergabung, kemudian The Mercy’s merekam album pertama mereka di REMACO dengan lagu-lagu TIADA LAGI (Charles H), HIDUPKU SUNYI (Charles.H), BAJU BARU (Charles.H), UNTUKMU (Charles.H), LOVE (Rinto.H), DI PANTAI (Charles.H), BEBASKANLAH (Charles.H), UNTUKKU(Charles.H), WOMEN (Rinto.H), KURELA DIKAU KASIH (Reynold.P), KISAH SEORANG PRAMURIA (Albert Sumlang). Album perdana inilah yang mengangkat nama The Mercy’s dengan lagu TIADA LAGI di blantika musik Indonesia.
Sejak itu The Mercy’s menjadi sebuah group yang menjadi idola masyarakat. Band ini sempat menjadi idola anak muda tahun 1970-an, dengan rambut gondrong, celana lebar diujungnya yang biasa “menyapu” jalan. Lagu TIADA LAGI menjadi Hit dimana-mana.
Ketika grup ini memutuskan untuk memasuki dunia rekaman, The Mercy’s pada saat itu dipimpin oleh Erwin Harahap, karena Rizal Arsyad harus meneruskan sekolahnya di Jerman. Tercatat sudah 30 Album yang dihasilkan The Mercy’s mulai dari album Pop, Keroncong dan Rohani.

Setelah The Mercy's

Pasang surut yang melanda blantika musik Indonesia juga dirasakan oleh The Mercy’s sejak memasuki dunia rekaman. Tahun 1978 The Mercy’s melakukan rekaman yang terakhir, sejak itu anggota The Mercy’s memulai kegiatannya masing-masing. Erwin Harahap memilih jalur Produser Rekaman dan mendirikan perusahaan sendiri. Rinto Harahap menjadi solo, mendirikan band Lolypop dan perusahaan rekaman disamping mencipta lagu dan mengorbitkan penyanyi-penyanyi. Reynold Panggabean memutuskan mendirikan group dangdutnya sendiri yaitu Tarantula. Demikian pula dengan Charles Hutagalung, mendirikan group band Ge & Ge (Genial and Gentlemen) yang menghasilkan HIT-nya “HANYA SATU”, “CUKUPLAH SUDAH” disamping itu ia juga lebih dikenal sebagai penyanyi solo dan pencipta lagu.
Sebagai pencipta lagu Charles Hutagalung tergolong sukses menciptakan lagu-lagu terkenal saat itu, seperti lagu “DALAM KERINDUAN” yang dirilis ulang dinyanyikan oleh Dewi Yull. “HIDUPKU SUNYI” direkam kembali dalam irama country yang dinyanyikan oleh Tantowi Yahya. Dan lagu Batak-nya yang dinyanyikan Emilia Contessa dengan judul “INANG” juga sukses dibawakan oleh beberapa penyanyi. Lagu rohaninya “SI PENEBUS DOSA” sampai sekarang masih berkumandang dan lagu natalnya “KENANGAN NATAL DI DUSUN KECIL” sampai sekarang setiap tahun tetap dirilis ulang.
Dalam masa vakum The Mercy’s, sebagai seniman Charles Hutagalung masih terus berkreasi. Yang menggemparkan ketika Charles dipercaya seniman Mbeling Remy Sylado untuk memerankan Raja Herodes dalam opera berjudul “Jesus Christ Superstar”. Opera ini digelar di balai Sidang Senayan tahun 80-an dan merupakan adaptasi dari opera karya Tim Rice yang penerjemahannya dalam Bahasa Indonesia dilakukan oleh Julius Siyaranamual dan Remy Sylado. Selain itu Charles juga bermain dalam serial “PAK BEDUL” Sinetron dari daerah melayu deli yang ditayangkan TPI (Televisi Pendidikan Indonesia).
Selain itu hari-harinya disibukkan dengan studionya CHG Record’s, karena disitulah dia berkarya, menuangkan inspirasinya, lagu-lagu ciptaannya untuk dinyanyikan sendiri atau penyanyi lain yang dibimbingnya. Beberapa lagu-lagu ciptaan Charles Hutagalung juga masuk dalam ajang Perlombaan Festival lagu populer Tingkat Nasional seperti lau dengan judul “CURIGA”. Sedangkan Festival Lagu kebersihan yang diadakan Gubernur DKI Jakarta dengan judul “JAKARTA TEGUH BERIMAN” berhasil menjadi juara yang pertama.
Selain itu ia juga aktif dalam keorganisasian PAPPRI(Persatuan Artis Pemusik Pencipta lagu Republik Indonesia) dan juga di PABINDO (Persatuan Artis Batak Indonesia).
Pada masa jayanya nama The Mercy’s pernah masuk dalam The BIG FIVE bersama dengan Koes Plus, Panbers, D’lloyds dan Favourite’s group. Group The Mercy’s ini sempat bertahan selama hampir dua dekade dan sampai saat ini menjadi group band legendaris karena lagu-lagunya masih disukai dan dinikmati sampai sekarang.

Reynold Panggabean (lahir 23 Januari 1951; umur 60 tahun) adalah seorang komposer, pemain film, serta penyanyi dan mantan anggota group The Mercy's, juga pimpinan kelompok musik Tarantulla.


Reynold Panggabean dengan Tarantulla-nya menghasilkan lagu-lagu dangdut dengan musik dangdut "fusion", campuran rock dan jazz, yang mampu menerobos pasar Jepang. Pada tahun 2005, Reynold menjadi penasihat Kontes Dangdut di TPI.

Kehidupan pribadi

Pernikahan pertamanya gagal dengan aktris yang diorbitkannya sendiri, Camelia Malik yang akhirnya menikah dengan Harry Capri di tahun 1988. Reynold kemudian menikah dengan aktris cantik Anna Tairas dan memiliki seorang putra bernama Kevin Rean. Pernikahan yang berumur 11 tahun itu juga berakhir. mereka resmi bercerai di tahun 2001.
